 ABOUT THE REGION: Puglia welcomes you with its sun, sea, the scent of its fields, the light of its towns.
In this region of southern Italy, lies north-west to south-east, you feel already facing a
balcony to the mysterious expanses of Africa and Asia: then firmly anchored to Europe,
let inebriare by fantasmagorie that travel from all coasts of the Mediterranean.
We should all go, Apulia, from mysterious caves of Gargano, through the sunny fields of
Tavoliere and the steppes of western Murgia, along fragrant olive groves and vineyards intoxicants,
tapping almond and cherry trees, arriving in Salento embraced dall'Adriatico and the Ionian Sea.
This is hospitable land.
Some people have desired conquer; others have arrived looking for refuge and welcome, while others are
come peacefully; others were arrested attracted by the mild climate.
Messapi, Greeks, Romans, Ostrogoths, Byzantines, Lombards, Saracens, Normans, Swabians, French, Spanish and many
other peoples over the centuries has meant that the Pugliesi embody the fullness of humanity and everyone,
according between Pugliesi, feels at home.
Then, when our gaze is the immense Tavoliere of Puglia, aiming along the Adriatic coast to
Barletta with its castle and places of the famous Disfida; little further than the beautiful cathedral of Trani, as a

religiosity and adventure, humanity and divinity that are mixed in Puglia and live spontaneously.
We can not continue to travel to south-east without first pointing towards Murgia where, high on a hill shines
the star of Federico II: Castel del Monte. |
